Occupational Summary
Organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the accounting functions of The School Board of Miami-Dade County. Implements and maintains the centralized accounting system, which includes tax funds, federal and vocational funds, and the internal funds of the schools. Prepares fringe benefits adjustments to the payroll system. This is an MEP pay grade 23 position. Salary Range: $95,957 - $170,130.
Minimal Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.
- Knowledge of and experience with personal computers and large-scale mainframe computers and networking the two systems.
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional accounting experience. Experience in governmental accounting preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Able to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
- Evidence of analytical skills as demonstrated by previous work experience.

District Supervisor, Financial Operations

Occupational Summary
Analyzes, monitors, executes and reconciles all accounting, payroll, accounts payable disbursements and internal control functions to properly safeguard School Board assets; prepares financial reports to meet the internal and external reporting requirements; provides information to internal and external auditors; and complies with federal, state, local requirements and School Board policies and requirements. Plays a key role in the year-end financial closing account analysis in the preparation of the Annual Financial Report (AFR)and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). This is an MEP pay grade 21 position. Salary Range: $79,499 - $145,835.
Minimal Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, Treasury Management or related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years administrative experience.
- Knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, Florida laws and regulation.
- Knowledge of computer software and technology pertinent to area of specification.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
